| I've heard predator population is primarily based on two criteria: 1) a healthy rabbit population, and 2) mange free packs. Several years ago in our area, coyotes were all but a rarity due to a declining rabbit population (drought year) and mange. Since then, above normal precipitation and an above average rabbit population have restored coyote numbers to better than average. Any idea if mange or a decline in their staple food has occured?
