I learned more about drop shotting in one day on lake Texhoma fishing for striper than you could imagine. This fishing method works for many different species. Lip hook a shad and drop it into a school of feeding stripers and hold on. Even works good with finesse type plastics, but as darkman suggests, "go big" it works. We often use drop shot techniques for catching big trout in Colorado (i.e lakers).
