| my first deer i took was this winter in liberal while were hunting pheasants. that day i took my dads (now mine) 243. along with us. it was the last day of deer season in kansas and didnt have any luck with my bow so i took out the rifle. The whole week i went to my farm to see if i could hit one but had alot of construction going on at the time so the deer where ran out. but i did have a chance to shoot my first bobcat while i was there. so after we filled up our limit (like always with me along) we were driving past a wheat field and saw about 3 white tail does and 5 muleys. (i only had a white tail doe tag).but they were about 400 yards away standing underneath a sprinkler.but we still decided to take the shot.but threw all the comotions of geting the rifle and getting set up i forgot to load it and as i pulled the trigger it went ''click'' and then my heart started to pound even more so i load up the gun and aimed again. but this time it fired and i whacked the deer so hard that the deer jumped probably 5 feet in the air and took off and stopped about 200 yards later. we then crouched up to it and i had to shoot it a few more times but now i'm snacking on it in my freezer. |
