I no longer do any trapping. I had several leg traps as a kid, but never did any serious trapping. I now have a couple of live traps that I use for skunks an raccoons, and some neighborhood cats. As far as I am concerned snares are a good way to go but before they use them make sure it is legal in their state. Some states no longer allow the use of snares, because they strangle their victim to death. I have seen snares get rapped around the belly of a coon and it was a nasty outcome. As for using guns, Gammo makes an air rifle that shoots as fast as a 22 and is very quiet. It was even use on the outdoor channel to kill a 250 pound wild boar. I think this would be very helpfull in taking down a few skunks and raccoons, and maybe even a bobcat or two. These guns are very advanced and come equipped with very nice scopes and even a red dot with side mounted flash light. Good luck and keep me updated on progress. |
