They don't carry a big selection of colors, but do carry both 4" and 5" sizes. I've tried all the methods to keep from losing them (rubber bands, tape ), these methods do help. One thing that I find helps is using an Eagle Claw 42L offset/widebend hook. You will find that 95% of the fish are hooked in the upper jaw, giving you better control and less lose of fish. When guiding for bass it's not unusual to catch walleye and even trout on the senkos. |
Interesting you mention them marketing the product under a different name to sell it to a different consumer target. This doesn't surprise me as it's done with just about everything from green beens to miracle whip, cereal to beer...and of course medication is another one, although generic medications are typically made by another manufacturer, but to the same standards as the brand name.
I worked at a grocery store one summer and I'll never forget the manager pulling me aside and grabbing two cans of corn. One was priced about twice what the other was. He showed me they were canned in the same town, same building, same company. He said they just market them to two different classes of buyer. One has a fancy label and high price, the other has a dull label a less attractive name, and a lower price. The contents of the can were the same.
It ticks me off that people can even get away with doing something like that, but that's life I guess...
As far as the Senko goes, I've hardly used them and have little confidence in them, but my bass fishing days have been pretty few and far between the past well I'd say several years but it's been longer than that...
Someone with a bass boat, or two...not naming any names...ahem...needs to take me out and get me reacquainted!
