| Feral Pigs
Anyone ever got the chance to pop some? I have a couple times, and let me tell you it is fun! The second time I had a lone boar come up and took him (after a long trail). The first time took the cake, we were watching a draw when we heard a loud ruckus off in the distance and soon figured out its was the pigs, (a group of probably 30 of them that we could hear maybe a quarter mile away coming right for us). When they got about thirty yards we opened up. My dad dropped his first with a head shot. I shot shortly after knocking a sow on to her side (though she got up and ran like nothing happened, and we never found her.) Then we just opened up trying to wound several (that was the stipulation from the farmer whose land we were hunting.)
If you haven't seen one of these things in person they are quite a site. I've seen some personally that were probably over 500 lbs. A boar I took a couple of years ago dressed around 250, and his hide in some places was AT LEAST and inch thick!
