| I have a pretty plain shooting bench. Cabelas elite shooting bench. It folds down pretty flat for storage and is heavy enough to avoid too much movement from wind.
My shooting rest is a Caldwell Lead Sled DFT. It moves up/down as well as left/right with precision. I had a cheaper shooting rest but found that bags were just as effective for accuracy (the rest removes the pain of recoil, bags do not).
If your brother is just sighting in rifles occasionally, then I don't think you have to go all out to get the accuracy you need for general hunting purposes. If he's wanting to pop prairie dogs at 1000 yards, I'm not sure you can spend too much money.
I hope this helps.
