Too much kick & muzzle blast could cause one to miss the proper killing POI

Precision Point of Impact (POI) into the most vital quick kill points is what drops them in their tracks.

A few years ago I had a broadside running shot at a doe, with the 243/06 Wildcat an old 6 power Weaver scope with the 6mm Sierra #1560 100-gr Boat Tail Spitzer, MV probably just under 3300-fps, Ballistic Coefficient .430.

I led her nose about 3 feet & blew her neck vertebra out, about 8" from the base of her head. She was dead before she hit the ground & slid in the snow. I over-led her, as a two foot lead would have got her high behind the shoulder in the spine area (a much larger POI target area).

Too much kick & muzzle blast could cause one to miss the proper killing POI; bullet placement & bullet design are what count for quick kills. shooting at proper distances is also critical to hitting the proper POI.
