| If you haven't had a bass hit a dry fly yet, you're really missing out. Playing them on a fly reel is a blast too. i have the reel break off and just "feel" the bass and use my palm to "cool his boots". I typically fish for trout these days, but there is a creek about 3 hours from here (Catskills Creek) that members of the NYC Trout Bums hit up on an annual basis. Lots of really great bass fishing on flies in a beautiful environment.
I'd typically use my 6 wt. There are flies call "Bass Crack" that work really well, but I also like tarantulars or grashoppers. Basically anytihng with legs that can make a bit of a "plop" on the water.
I also know several people that go to Brazil for Peacock Bass. Haven't been yet, but my wife is from Brazil, so its only a matter of time. Nice.
