| With presence of hogs, your best bet is to hang feeders. Won't have to worry about hogs and if deer aren't actively moving through area or using feeder, all you have to do is move it. You can easily make drop feeders for next to nothing. Cut about an 8 -10' section of PVC pipe (4-6" diam.) place caps on both end and fill with your choice of feed. On bottom end of feeder cut several holes to allow grain to fall out when pipe is gently tapped or moved. It is fairly easy to get animals accustomed to these if you put out well before season starts. Hang it and pile a bunch of feed on ground. Before you know it, deer will figure out moving it will drop feed. |
