| It all depends on what you want the light to do, how much you want to spend, and what size of light you want to own or carry.
For general house chores I will be happy with the inexpensive Streamlight Poly Pro 4 AA. In that light I use rechargeable Nimhs (the same your digital camera uses) and I have free power.
For a key chain light, to have with me always, I take the Fenix L1P
For walking to my tree stand before daylight, I like a Peltz Tikka headlamp with a red filter (deer don't see red light) so I am not polluting the woods with light.
For a blood tracking light I like the Bear Cub 220 lumens rechargeable, it have a very white intense light, similar to the white light from a Coleman lantern (the old timers were right to track with the Coleman)
For my truck or car light, I want the most powerful available, so I can use it as a spot light, or emergency head light or for any S & R operation I have to do (I am a volunteer S&R in my area)
That will be the BOREALIS 1050 lumens rechargeable.
As you see, for diverse needs they are diverse lights, same as guns for hunting.
Cheers
