Thumbs up Tube Baits

It seams like we all forget some of the best fishing baits from our past.
Someone is always coming out with new baits everyday.
New type swim baits new Buzz baits.
But we always go back to the old reliable tube baits. It's a bait you can fish in several ways.
Its a great top water or jerk bait. I like to use it with a wide gap hook and no weight .
It's a bait that you can Texas rig Carolina rig.
Its also great for flipping or pitching.
What other bait can you fish in so many ways?
If you have any question please let me know i will try and answer them.
Remember when you buy your baits try and buy American made baits.
There are several companies that make Tubes in America.
Here are a few that make and sell American made tubes

I agree with your thinking Mr. Fish. Tube baits have got to be the most versitile bait on the market. I've probably only fished them a couple different ways (never TX or Car. rigged). What is your preferred method of fishing? In what conditions would you tx or carolina rig a tube?

Thanks,
BM

I've never fished tube baits that much. I guess I'm missing out with everyone else talking about them so much.

I've just always fished a plastic worm instead. I'm in my comfort zone with a 7 inch power worm tied to the end of my line. My ignorance may be costing me fish I guess...

What is it about the tube bait that makes it more effective or more attractive? Is it the size, the shape, or maybe the skirt?

I agree with Mr Fish on that we do forget about alot of the "older" baits. I alot times in tourneys i forget about what I used to throw when I was winning a lot of tourneys.

I recently started using the green Mccoy line and it performs great for my needs. Very little spool memory, quite abrasion resistant, and knot strength seems great. I highly recommend this line. It's kind of tough to find in our area, but my local tackle shop started stocking it..

I love to rig a tube weedless in the spring when the water gets high.Let the water get above summer pool and in the bushes and I will rig a tube weedless and kill the bass .
They love getting in the weeds when the water is high.
Anytime you fish a worm like on a mud point are a drop off try a tube caroliana style.
