Sardis Fishing

Just got back from fishing two tournaments @ Sardis Lake in south eastern Oklahoma.

My dad and I went and pre-fished Fri. and did okay. We found a bunch of buck bass still guarding the fry, but couldn't locate any of the spawned out females.

Saturday during the tourney we went back to the grass beds where we had found the buck bass and caught our limit of 13.02 lbs but still couldn't find that kicker fish. Biggest one was a little over 3 lbs. We managed to get 3rd and was "only" ten pounds out of the lead

Sunday was a whole different story. I caught a good 3 and a half pounder right off the bat. So we thought we were in good shape but managed to only catch 1 more keeper the rest of the day. It seemed the fish had just left. But that is the way it goes tournament fishing

At least you managed third. Sounds like whoever won was able to boat a couple of those big sows you couldn't find.

I'm heading to Lake Eufaula today and am coming back on Saturday. With all the rain we've been getting I doubt I will have much success catching any fish but I'm hoping maybe we can luck into a nice school of sand bass.

Re:

I live on a lake in Louisiana. I've found that red hot dogs work the best. Idk about where you are or whatever. If you need alot of fish to fry i suggest using a yo-yo. Not the toy but a fishing yo-yo. Just put it on a dock with a piece of shiner or hotdog and it will set the hook and keep it about 4 inches underwater so it will stay alive. Its good to leave out over night if you need about 20 a night. Just set it up and leave it over night.
