Edwin Evers pro bass fisherman

I had the pleasure of pre-fishing for a tourney with him at Eagle Mountain Lake in Texas. My parents bid on a fishing trip with a pro on another website to benifit the Jr. Bassmasters of Oklahoma. They won it and I got to go with him. This is one the nicest guys you will ever meet. He is really down to earth. He acts like just one the guys. He really enjoys the outdoors.

Here is a little info on him:

Some more info about our trip

I'd like to say I whipped him and showed him how to fish, but that would be a big time lie. Man that guy is goooooood. He schooled me pretty good.

When I first got there that morning it was almost light enough to see. He asked me if I had brought anything to eat and I said "no, I'll be alright I had a little something for breakfast" anyway I thought we would maybe stop and go get something to eat. So he proceeded to tell me that he would make me a pb&j sandwich, because we weren't going to come off the water until dark. I thought, man what have i gotten myself into?

After he made my sandwich we were waiting to launch our boat and all these pro's are showing up and I'm like a little kid in a candy store! These are the guys I watch on T.V.!!! We head out fishing and we fish, he catches, I practice casting, he catches some more largemouths, and I practice casting some more. lol. About 5 hours pass by and we finally stop and eat. And then we start fishing some more. I'm thinking this guy is a machine!! So we do fish til dark, and i finally do put some bass in the boat, thank goodness, but he probably caught about 15 to my 1.

That trip was probably the best time of my fishing career and I really learned alot about fishing from Edwin. You can't ask for a better guy to fish with.

P.S. Had to be the best pb&j I have ever had.

that's a pretty awesome story.

I'd love to fish with one of those guys, just for a day.

If you ever get another chance, make sure and pack a lunch!

I am a nice Dad

I bid on the trip for me, but somehow Corry talked me out of it lol! after Corry got back, all he talked about was Edwin this and Edwin that. So I emailed Edwin and thanked him for sharing a day in a boat with my son. He promptly emailed me back and said Corry was welcome anytime. He said his dad didnt really fish but would go with him from time to time and just sit in the boat and read a book. I think Edwin is a class act and i wish him luck. But if he asks corry to fish a really big bass lake, well Corry may be sitting home this time lol!
