golf course ponds

me and my friends found a great fishing spot at our municipule golf course this past summer and spent as much time we could there. we often can catch over a hundred fish a day there. not that big but there some four pounders and a couple of nice sized cat fish.

I've often wanted to try ponds on some courses, actually, me and couple friends got drunk one night and decided to do it, only to get out there and realize there was no moon and we couldn't see our hands in front of our faces!

Drew a lot of golf course ponds are excellent fishing.

When we lived in Enid, our home course had a couple of ponds stocked with catfish that they fed. They'd beat on the ground before the fed them.

When you came up to the pond on the 16th hole if you took a few steps toward the pond from the tee box and beat your club on the ground a few times catfish would come to you and go crazy on the top of the water thinking they were about to be fed.

There were some pretty good sized cats in there too!

Marvin I'd love to fish that pond you're talking about too. It just begs me drag in a two man bass boat or someone else (cause you can't get me in one) to come in there and tube fish it.

Golf course pond fishing rocks... I've caught about a 5 to 5.5lb bucket mouth out of a country club pond with a darn dip net before. It's nice to fish these areas as i'm sure they have no idea what poor lure presentation is. Drew, you keep practicing with those tame ones and you'll never have the patience to fish a "real body of water" again .

J/K....
At your age, pay close attention to what your doing. How are you presenting the bait to fish, and how are they reacting to your presentation styles. This is a great way to learn how to pattern fish. You have the advantage in fishing a small area with a high concentration of fish. If you can transfer what you've learned on small pond to open water (reading patterns that is), you can catch fish anywhere.
