Biggest Bass you've ever caught?

What's the Biggest Bass you've ever caught?

The biggest bass I've ever caught was a tad over 8 pounds. I caught two of them from Lake Fork on two separate trips with oucorry back in the day.

I would like to be able to say the biggest bass I've ever caught was over TEN POUNDS but unfortunately that has yet to happen.

Maybe this summer I'll catch one in that range, but I doubt it.

Has anyone here caught a bass over 10 pounds? I know every year 10 pounds is becoming less and less of a milestone for bass fishermen, especially in states like Florida, Texas, California, etc., but I don't know very many people lucky enough to have landed one.

I've been broke off a few times and I know they were hogs, but that's the beauty of fishing.

Cooper you have caught one over 10. At the second pond "It's a ten pounder, It's a ten pounder!!" I still remember that like it was yesterday. lol

And yes I was there when he caught those fish over 8. That was one the funist trips I have ever been on. We caught some many fish, and we really didn't know what we were doing.

Yeah that first Lake Fork trip was one for the books. The second one not so great and horrible weather but man, that first trip...I'll never forget it.

And I remember, "It's a ten pounder!" too.

Never topped the ten-pounder mark, but have caught several in the 7-8 lb. range. Most of those coming from ponds.

10# & she was 28 1/2". She had just spawned out. Wish I would have got her about a week earlier. Taxadermist said that she would have gone around 13-14# with eggs in her. Caught from a pond in KS. I'll have to get a better picof her and post it.

Thumbs up A Memory to Last a Lifetime

The biggest freshwater fish I have ever caught was a 9.5 pound largemouth bass on Lake Fork. From the posts above, it looks like many others have had success on this lake!

We were on the lake for less than 2 hours and I threw a spinnerbait toward some vegetation along the shoreline in about four feet of water. The next thing I knew, the water EXPLODED, my rod bent nearly in half, and the bass leaped vertically out of the water shaking its large head from left to right, trying to dislodge the lure. Although it only took a minute and a half to get him to the boat, because he didn't put up much of a fight, it is my BEST fishing memory ever! We took a few pictures, weighed him, and then released him.

The image of him jumping vertically in the air is an image that I will fondly carry with me for the rest of my life! When I think back on the event, I put the whole thing in "slow motion" and visualize him trying to shake off the spinnerbait.

A memory forever etched in my mind...

Still looking for that 10 pounder. Just got back from Lake Baccarac in Mexico. Some 7, 8, and 9 pounders, (9 3/4 the largest). I'll have to post pictures and a story.

Rangerman, that's a good story. I've fished that lake twice, both times with Corry. I almost wish we wouldn't have gone the second time because the dreams I'd had of fishing there as a kid were realized on our first trip. It was all I had thought it would be. The second time around was not so kind to us. I mainly blame the weather.

I haven't been back since, but I still envision fishing the lake again just like we did that first time. I almost don't want to go back and screw it up.

On the other hand, I would never pass up the opportunity to fish that lake or any others of that quality. I know for many people, especially over the last 5 years, that elusive 10 pound bass has become less elusive and catching one has become much more realistic but I am continuing to chase it and I actually think most people have a legitimate shot at catching one in their lifetime if they so desire whereas maybe 7 or 8 years ago I wasn't so sure that was the case.

My outlook has changed somewhat though, in that before I would have boated that sucker and put him on my wall for sure. Now, I'd probably be more apt to release him safely back in the water after taking pictures and have a replica mount created.
