How many of you bagged an elk this year. I would love to see some pics and hears some stories. Some tips for that matter. Three of us went in New Mexico this year and came up empty handed.

Darin, Why are we so inept at Elk Hunting? I love going, but damn man, I can't take another year of not killing an Elk.

Please!!! No need for griping about not filling tags. If I remember correctly, i've extended invitations to both of you to go KILL elk not just beers

Unlike you Birdman, we cannot simply go by an instate tag and hop on over to the mountain for a quickie!

To say that my Elk Hunting Trip this year cost me an arm and a leg would be an understatement. No, I wasn't attacked by a cougar, but my bank account took a pretty big hit.

The tag alone was 500 dollars plus. Then you add on the costs of getting there and staying for a week, supplies and equipment, food, etc. etc. Plus I bought two guns.

No way I could afford to buy an over the counter out of state for Colorado on top of that.

This coming year, if we don't get drawn for New Mexico, I promise you I will be coming to Colorado for you to take me elk hunting.

I hear ya shortbus, I can't stand paying that much for an elk tag and then not see anything.
