Our party of 6 had an unbelieveable shoot. I think there were more doves than I had ever seen before at our place. One reason was that there were lots of wild sunflowers surronding our hunting area. I also feel the mojo's brought more doves into shooting range. We built extensions at various heights (8,6&4 ft plus one at standard height). They worked like a magnet. I am an absolute believer in a mojo.

I sure hope this little cold front doesn't send them south on ya. It was probably a good thing season opened on a Monday, because it sounds like the doves need a little break ....

I heard yesterday about your opening day Dove hunting trip.

I am jealous.

We're just lucky the cold front came in AFTER opening day. This is the first Dove season for about as long as I can remember where a cold front wasn't moving in on opening weekend.

I don't think this weather will have too much effect. The temp isn't supposed to drop any lower than the fifties and tomorrow it is supposed to warm back into the eighties. I'm hoping for a good weekend shoot. Birdman I wish you could come down so I could shoot your limit.

Dove hunting continues to be great in Southwest Kansas. The weather is warm, still lots of sunflowers and the doves are in huge flocks. Some say they are staging prior to migration. This has been the most successful season for me that I can remember.
