Me and my dad were at Watts Bar Dam just up the road about a hr or so one day drifting along a rock wall when I hooked what I figured was a rock or marker cable and man was I wrong... turns out it was a 30+lb flathead. Just when I thought I had him with the drag locked down, my pinnacle gold reel free wheeled backwards at about mach56326248728254727, rippin gears and every other peice of metal inside the reel. Oh well, it was worth it. The rod was almost doubled over and the line was on the verge of snapping when I finally threw the rod into the bottom of the boat and yanked the fish over the side of the boat. I'll post pictures of this freakin fish later.
The gear I was using was a pinnacle gold reel/bass pro limited rod spooled with 14lb berkley, 3/8oz sinker and 1/0 hook with a small tuffy minner (yes minner).

My dad also caught a drum that day that straightend out a 2/0 eagle claw hook. We estimated it to be around 20-30lbs.
