| Blame it on the weather! Went fishing yesterday and caught 1 very small blue. I think this cold front may have knocked the fish off their bite or something. The weather has been below average for about a week now, so if all else fails, blame the weatherman. I was thinking about something while I was fishing, and I need to add bait well to my boat. From the time I caught my bait till the time we got the boat launched, all but 1 of the shad I had were dead. I know they are going to die when you cut them, but I have always been taught the fresher the bait, the better they like it. I have even gone as far as fish with live shad, but it’s very rare, because of how delicate shad can be. I fish out of a 17' tracker, and it has a double sided live/bait well, but if I put 1 10-20 lb. blue in it it’s full. I keep a 100-quart cooler in the boat to put my fish in, but it’s big and takes up alot of space. If anybody has done this, give me some ideas on were to start. This boat is rig for a die-hard cat fisherman, so ideas have got to be serious ones, nothing with duct tape, and bungee cords please. I take my fishing very serious (just ask my wife) and I try and only use the best equipment I can afford. In my opinion, I owe the fish that give me so much pleasure, at least that much. Thanks Sawyer |
