birdman Administrator Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Longmont, Co Posts: 460 Images: 6	Antler sheds Does anyone on here hunt for dropped antlers in your hunting area following the season end? What time of year do your bucks start shedding? I was up driving in the mountains yesterday and saw 2 gigantic bucks still sporting their headgear. I thought for sure they would have dropped by now. When I was in high school, I worked at a private zoo for several years. Their hoofstock (elk, deer, exotics, etc..) would generally shed in Jan – early March. This was in Kansas however. I guess I’m asking what role geographical location and / or environment play on this? __________________ "I don't care how or what you hunt or fish, I'm the outdoor equal opportunist"
