Mineral Licks and Blocks?

Those of you that manage your deer areas by putting out mineral licks, feeders, food plots etc., what time of year do you begin putting these "goodies" out? I was just curious what impact these supplements would have on animal quality. I'm sure if you're buying the expensive stuff that contains high levels of calcium, amino acids, amongst others, you might have some impact. But what do you think about the normal lick which mostly contains salt and other minerals?

Thats an interesting point about the deer getting the extra nutrition.
Could make for bigger racks. I'd like a little info on that as well.

It only makes sense. Feed em what they're lacking and it's got to improve their disposition. I'm still curious other than genetics, what specific nutrients contribute to "antler health"?

Anybody know?????

If it's legal in your state you should absolutely use salt licks or mineral licks with calcium and phosphorus. Same goes for planting crops or putting out feeders.

If you own your own land, it's important to manage the game living on your property if you want to harvest a trophy animal.

DrakeHunter could problably shed some light onto this as he spends a lot of time planting and feeding.
