Tell me again, how successful your elk hunts have been Corry? Uh huh! That's what I thought!
Wow, that was just wrong.

I was about to finish preparing my things and packs for a hunting activity over the weekend. I am really excited to a new elk hunt that I will be doing. It seems to be a challenging activity and I am looking forward to it.

I went bowhunting yesterday morning, which was opener. I saw one small buck. He was too far away even if I wanted to shoot at him. Plus, it was so windy, my tree was swaying wildly through the air. I doubt I could have hit anything even if I tried. All that said, I had a great time and was an honor just to be out there. I plan on giving it another go in the morning.

Thanks. I went again on Saturday and watched a doe for about an hour. Also saw a small buck. I would have stuck the doe, but she never got close enough. I did get some film of her though.

Went hunting this afternoon. Hunted out of the tower blind. Had a doe come out into the bean/rye/wheat field right at dark. She was about 40 yards away. I decided not to take the shot...a little out of my comfort zone. I think this is a picture of her from a trail cam a few days ago.
