Another Deer season in the history books, and while I say it every year, I think this was my best season yet. Third year hunting with Donnie and while we made a couple mistakes here and there, a lot was learned along the way. Donnie filled all his tags and managed to take a really nice 9 point he will play hell topping.

As for me, I passed a few deer and didn’t fill a doe tag till the last morning. Didn’t have any shots at a wallhanger, but am quite happy as I find myself more apt to reach for the camera rather then the gun or bow, as I find “Deer Season” becomes more and more about the hunting rather then the shooting.

I’ll say a prayer for those that didn’t make it through this season and give thanks to the big guy for keeping an eye on me and those I hunt with, as well as you yahoos here at the site.

Now to just survive till next season.
