| Canyon Lake & Upper Guadalupe River Guide Report Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 64 degrees; 907.31' (3.3' low) Largemouth are very good early and all day under cloud cover in 4'-10' using Silver Blue Terminator spinnerbaits, green-pumpkin Super Tube Heavy and 5" pumpkin Ring Worms. Upriver, channel turns with wood cover are producing bass up to 5 lbs. pitching watermelon-chartreuse Big Pig creature baits, whacky rigged 4" pumpkin Whacky Sticks on a 3/0 "K" Wacky Hook from Falcon Lures, shallow running crankbaits or 1/8 oz. white Tiny-T buzzbaits early. Smallmouth are fair to good to 4 lbs over rockpiles in 15'-25' using smoke-red JDC Craws, smoke-pepper 3" tubes and 4" rootbeer JDC Strike Grubs. Crappie are good upriver in 8'-12' on minnows and white jigs.
