Highland Lakes (Buchanan & LBJ) Guide Report

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 60 degrees; 1013.76' (6' low)
Bass fishing continues to be very good with largemouth
holding to annual fall patterns of high activity, foraging and

covering a lot of shallow water over flats where the most
active fish are positioned.
Largemouth are good to 6 lbs over flats with stumps and
laydowns in 2'-6' using 1/4 oz. Bleeding Shad Rat-l-Traps,
white custom tungsten Terminator spinnerbaits and Texas
rigged green-pumpkin Scoundrel worms. Chartreuse-blue
back crankbaits and Carolina rigged Big Pig Creature Baits
Stripers are good to 26" in 30' from Flag to Shaw Island
vertically jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows, white bucktails
w/plastic trailers and tight-lining live bait.
