| Highland Lakes (Buchanan & LBJ) Guide Report Lake Buchanan: Water stained to clear; 57 degrees; 1013.45' (7.5' low) Areas in creeks and pockets have been producing quality bass rather than numbers. Typical productive spots are over flats with wood cover - brushpiles, stumps and laydowns - and along stationary docks with legs. Largemouth are fair to good along channel breaklines in creeks and pockets tight to wood cover in 4'-10' using a silver shad Terminator "Red Series" spinnerbait, 1/4 oz. blue back Bleeding Shiner 'Traps, pumpkin-red Craw Tubes and weightless cotton candy JDC Gibronis. Pitching a smoke Super Tube Heavy and 1/4 oz. blk-blue Terminator Pro Series jig to docks and brushpiles are effective. Stripers are fair to good in 30' around from Shaw to Flag Island drifting live bait, casting Spoiler Shads, Snap Back soft jerkbaits rigged on a 3/0 red Bait Jerker Hook and jigging Pirk Minnows.
