| Highland Lakes (Buchanan & LBJ) Guide Report Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 50 degrees; 1013.21' (7' Low) Largemouth are fair from 8' to 25' along ledges and deeper breaklines of creeks using chartreuse-pumpkin Carolina rigged Snap Back lizards, pitching pumpkin-red Craw Tubes and watermelon-black Drop Shot worms. Stripers are good in infrequent schooling action down to 30' on Red Fins, Snap Back soft jerkbaits rigged on weighted RED Bait Jerker hooks and tightlining live bait. White Bass are slow and small jigging silver Pirk Minnows, 1/8 oz. Tiny Traps and swimming 2" pearl Spoiler Shads. White Bass are slow in 30' in the lower end jigging Pirk Minnows swimming Spoiler Shads and Tiny Traps. Crappie are fair around heated "crappie" docks on minnows.
