| Highland Lakes (Buchanan & LBJ) Guide Report Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 67 degrees; 1011.21': Largemouth are good early and late in 4'-15' along breaklines and ledges in larger creeks and pockets using watermelon JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters white/chartreuse Terminator buzzbaits early, pumpkin Whacky Sticks and Ice Tea Scoundrel worms on jigheads. Striper are fair in 30' around Shaw and Garrett Islands drifting live bait, casting 3" natural Spoiler Shads and trolling. White Bass are fair from midlake to Mud Island trolling, jigging 2" Spoiler Shad and 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows. Crappie are fair under baited docks on minnows. White Bass are good at night on Lit'l Fishies, crappie jigs and minnows. Crappie are very good in 8'-15' on white crappie jigs and minnows.
