Lake Buchanan, Lbj & Canyon Lake Guide Report

Lake Buchanan: Water: turbid-mostly clear; 83 degrees; 1018.11'
Largemouth are fair to good at first light along breaklines of
flats in in Morgan and Silver Creeks using JDC Skip-N-Pop
topwaters, watermelon Flukes, Rat-L-Traps and watermelon-
red Whacky Sticks.
Stripers are good at first light on the surface on Spoiler Shads
plastic swim baits and drifting or freelining live bait around
Lighthouse Point.
White Bass are fair but small in clear water on Tiny Traps and
2 inch plastic swim baits.
Crappie fair in clear water using pink/white or chartreuse Curb's
crappie jigs and live minnows..
Channel Catfish are good on liver, minnows and dip baits.
Yellow and Blue Catfish are very good on rod/reel, juglines and
trotlines upriver using goldfish and perch.

Lake LBJ Water Stained-Murky, 84 degrees, 824.63'
Largemouth are improved early where you find clear water
in 4-12 feet using white Curb's Erratic jigs, perch colored
crankbaits, flipping green-pumpkin tubes and Texas
rigged Big Pigs to docks and laydowns.
Stripers to 2 inches good at night on Creme Lure's 2 inch
Spoiler Shads and Little Fishies.
White Bass fair to good at night on Little Fishies.
Crappie are fair to good over brush piles in clear water
on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.
Channel Catfish are very good on worms, liver and
dip bait.
Yellow and Blue Catfish are very good on trotlines using
goldfish and perch.

Canyon Lake: Water murky-clear; 83 degrees; 918.73':
Largemouth are fair to good in flooded bushes and grass bank
shallow at sunrise and all day under cloud cover on JDC
Skip-N-Pop topwaters, watermelon Whacky Sticks and later on
Texas rigged blue flake worms and drop shot Devil's Tongues
along breaklines and ledges.
Smallmouth are fair early in 12- 28 feet using smoke JDC grubs,
and 3/16 oz. pumpkin Curb's jigs w/matching JDC craw trailers.
Stripers are slow to fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits over and around
humps and jigging 1 oz. Pirk Minnows at daylight.
