Time to quit fishing?

Well, it's that time again. Been fishing all my life, spent decades in the "industry". Been really cool places. Caught the biggest rainbow, largemouth (over 10 pounds), Brown (like a frigging' steelhead!) I'm likely to catch. Could catch a bigger steelhead, but I'd have to go to B.C. and time it right, and it's just not my style to "pay" for fish. Not judging, but north of Mexico, I've never paid to be taken fishing... Can't face lake fishing for stockers anymore... Feel guilty punishing the damn things... Feel guiltier all the time. Still man enough to slap the snot out of PETA weenies though

every five years of so, I lose the fever and consider quitting fishing. This last year has been a bad one health wise for me. I could still go to Mexico, but the health crap makes logistics different. I can't just pop tacos and tortas and drink Modellas... Camping doesn't work anymore. As Mick and Keef wrote "What a drag it is getting' old..."

So add in to the health and natural "why do I fish anyway" cycle I go through all the garbage going on. So many more posts each year on break-ins, confrontations, fights, poaching, freaking' murders... It just adds up to a world where I'd rather do something else. Know for a fact I interrupted a prowl on my Subaru on the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie 4th of July week. Heck if it weren’t for working with something "new" over the past decade, namely spey casting, I probably would have quit 5 years ago.

Don't know where I'm going with this. Definitely NOT looking for "support" or "C'Mon dude! Can't let the A-holes get you down!" type posts. Just venting, looking to see if anyone else is heading down the same path, and trying to figure out how to withdraw gracefully from this thing we call a sport
Thanks
Tony
