Alaska Trout Fishing Trip

Alaska - Anyone ever been Trout Fishing in Alaska?

I have yet to even trout fish, but I keep hearing about the awesome
Trout Fishing Trips people have taken up there.

I guess you could do some Salmon and Trout fishing and maybe shoot a bear while you're there...if you want to live.

I don't know, I'm not big on cold weather. I know it can get warm in Alaska too, but I also hate the dang bugs. Gotta wear nets and all that...

But hey, I'll do just about anything once (save for Noodling probably) so a Trout Fishing Trip to Alaska will go on the list...or the "Bucket List" if you want...

Make sure and include me on your Alaska trout fishing trip invite list. This is one trip i've always wanted to take. I've seen several programs on hunting chanels where they parlay morning and evening caribou hunts with late morning / mid day trout fishing excursions. Throw that bear tag in the mix and we have one heck of a trifecta!!! You'll probably need to make a special trip to Colorado first to pre-fish with me and learn what a trout is ...

My son, brother, and I rented a B&B in Ketchcan for a week. Mostly we drove the rent-a-car out to a different creek to fish for trout and salmon. One day we took a small float plane to a lake/river for cutthroat. Another day we took a boat for salmon and hallibut. Lots of small cutthroat, rainbow, and dollys.... then there were the pink and chum salmon. Good fun.

I'd absolutely love to do some spay casting for those big salmonoids. I hooked into a pretty big Chinook off Vancouver Island this summer. Check out the picture of it in the photo section under member categories. Open up Birdman and take a look.

Cheers,

Hello Everybody.....................We did Alaska last year, Wyoming this year and 10 of us are already planning our return trip to Alaska, last half of July next year. Is a fantastic place.

If you want to get a look at it, our whole trip from last year is at the bottom on the fishing page on our website.

Untitled

Alaska was fantastic, but the Wyoming trip (near the top of the page) gave Alaska a run for it's, or our money.

Edmond OK, stomped around there for a few years in the early 80s, stationed at Tinker AFB. Noodled in Lake Eufala,(sic), did some real good bass fishing in alot of cattle ponds, little (very little) pheasant hunting, chased a few deer around, drank too much, tattooed, married, divorced and got the heck out of OK.

I do catch a bit of ribbing on my music choices, thought the first time I used MC Hammer was on the "Fishing Friends" video, made me chuckle so I had to use it again.....................but did you look at Alaska

I have to say though Wyoming was my favorite. Fishing was more diverse in Alaska, but the back packing trip in Wyoming was truly life changing.

If you decide you're definately doing Alaska let me know and I will pass along what I picked up last year.

That sounds like me. Except for the noodling part. Maybe I will get out of OK some day.
