| Member | Miracle Mile Just hit up the Miracle Mile - a 7-mile (huh?) stretch of the North Platte river in Wyoming. Landed a couple nice sized trout that I thought were worthy of a post. Hopefully the pic is attached. The river was raging (over 1500cfs!), so it made it tough to fish. We were using worms tethered to a hefty weight, and I think that's the only way we could've caught anything. There were other fly fisherman around, but it looked like they were struggling just to make good casts. It's a beautiful river with lots of huge trout - worth checking out if anyone happens to find themselves in Wyoming, of all places. |

| Administrator | Nice brown phish!!! With the beanie on, It looks pretty damn cold for May. For those unfamiliar with this area, the "Mile" is one of the best trout fisheries for trophies in the U.S.. Great pic, sounds like you had a good time.

| Member | Thanks, Birdman. By brown fish, do you mean brown trout? If so, it's actually a rainbow in that pic. He had his spawning colors in full bloom and the pic ain't the best in bringing them out. I'm guessing the flows are a bit higher than normal for this time of year, mostly due to the excessive snowfall the Rockies got (and are still getting!) this Winter. The run-off is definitley in full swing up there. Surpisingly, though, the water was relatively clear - maybe because its tail water below the Seminole Res. and all the crap gets filtered out by the dam. |
