World Record Grouper.....
My buddy was fishing a head boat out of Rudee Inlet in Virginia Beach and caught the WORLD RECORD Yellowedge Grouper.
The fish was 46lbs 2ozs passing the previous record of 41lbs.
They caught 300+ fish [30 crew] ranging from grouper/sea bass/tautog/bluefish to tilefish. On the way out [70 miles] they hit seas of 12 feet and there was plenty of chum!! LOL!! but it worked out for everyone onboard...the seas flattened out and they caught a WORLD RECORD!

It would be pretty awesome to catch a world record fish.

You didn't make the trip with them Brody?

I don't know what the average grouper weighs but the dude beat the record by 5 pounds, that's got to pretty much set him up to hold the world record for quite awhile.

I did a quick google search and found two articles about the catch but no previous record information for a yellow edge grouper.

What was the previous record Brody? BTW, I noticed the guy had on a blue hoodie. It looks like the blue eog hoodies in the pics you posted on eog so I'm guessing the dude is in your softball league?
