Mono vs. Fluoro??

After reading the article in the crappie section comparing Mono vs. Fluoro lines, i was just curious what you guys prefer.

I personally use mono exclusively for my baitcasters and spinning rods. When fly fishing clear streams, i'll sometimes use fluoro tippets / leaders. My biggest complaint is spool memmory and stiffness in cold water/weather.

Your thoughts?

I've never used fluoro before. Not much need here in Oklahoma for bass. Most of the water here is stained so there is not much need for fluoro.

line

i would like to try it, i cant remember but i think it has little stretch. i thought about using it on topwater baits for better hookset but i use mono stren original series. Just can't beat it. If you get hung up in a brush pile you have to turn your trolling motor up on high to break the line because it's so tough.

mono or fluoro

These two lines are totally different. Fluoro has the index as water (1.1) ,it's more abrasion resistant than mono. It has very little strech, where as mono streches 30%.
It is not for top waters, due to it sinks and mono floats. Fluoro is a much smaller dia.
Example: 17# vanish is .015, trilene xt .017. Does it make a difference yes ! I'm sponored by Pure Fishing and use both. It depends on what type of fishing which way I go. On a recent white bass trip the fluoro caught twice the numbers than the mono did.
I was truly surprised that it made that big o a difference to whites !

mono or fluoro

Yes the big girls are starting to move up we've had fish up to and over 7#'s each trip. I was as surprised myself that the fluoro made that big of a difference, but it does. Try it yourself and see the results. Make sure you really wet the knot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a tourney on Sardis this weekend but I don't think there will be any beddin fish there. Water still too cold but it is warming up and the sows should be pre-spawn.
