Many people, especially in Oklahoma consider september 1st the season opener for hunting. Dove season is a fun and simple way to get the blood flowing for your hunting passsion. It is also an easy way to get kids involved in the outdoors. Kids love to dove hunt because it can be exciting if you find the right location. As apposed to sitting in a tree waiting for something to happen, they can move and talk without interupting the flight pattern of the birds. wearing cammo and just being outdoors is enough for most kids to feel like they are a part of the outdoors. My three year old daughter has been wating as impatiently as possible for this day and there is no way for me to sneak out of this one. So to everyone happy hunting, and take a kid to the outdoors if you can, it may be something they will remember for ever.
