Any place but work

Ok, here is the dealio. I sent 2 dogs with a partner of mine down to the Huntsville, AL area for the UFTA Nationals. I know he will do right by them and give his all to make sure they run the best they can, but this just sucks! First call in at 05:30 this morning, they are up airing dogs and cooking breakfast. Next call 08:00 they have 50 Quail and are getting ready to run the dogs to see how they are going to do before they go into the competetion fields tomorrow. Call number 3 12:30 the dogs did fine are running big and they are heading up to the staging area to check in and get the run times for tomorrow. Call 4 15:15 the dogs are staked out at the cabin they are sitting around drinking cold ones waiting for the coals to get ready to put the steaks on!

All this time I am stuck here drinking diet coke and watching the clock. I have a 12 pack in the truck and a full tank of gas, but I am thinking that wont quite get me there.

Wishing I was anywhere but here and had more vacation time.

Take care,

Mike

I feel your pain Pointer.... I've got geese flying within 60 feet of my desk window with 4 days left in the season. Snow storm blowing in tonight with a desk full of work for tomorrow. I think we all need to be sick tomorrow ..

Glad to hear the dogs are getting a workout at least.

Here's to wishing your dogs well tomorrow in the field!!!!

Cheers,

Hey guys,

I hear ya, they are having a good time for sure. I hope the dogs do well, this is a huge event and would go a long ways for me if they can do well. Hopefully the sets will be good and they are on there A game, if they are they will know we were there for sure.

It would suck to have to miss out on that especially after all the work you put in. Plus they'd probably perform better with you at the helm anyway wouldn't they? Or are they just as familiar with the other person?

Yes, it is going to be a long week I am sure, but they will be fine. Don and I run them in doubles during competetions and train together every week if one of the two of us is not out of town. They are in good hands and they will perform just as well for him as they do for me. It is just the not being there that is getting to me. I will surely wear them out asking for updates before the week is over.

Well that sucks. Maybe you can just crack one at home and pretend to be there. Thats what I'd do.

Man I fully intend on cracking 1 or 6 tonight. I think that is the only thing that will let me sleep. I dont know who is more keyed up about tomorrow, me or them......
