Favorite Game To Hunt

Just curious what everyone enjoys hunting the most? I for one enjoy hunting everything that moves!!! I love to deer hunt more than anything, but it's hard to beat having a coyote try to run over you.

I'd have to say my personal favorite is pheasant. There's nothing quite like a cackling rooster getting up between your legs unannounced. What probably makes this my favorite however, is seeing my dog work.

Goose hunting would be a close second though. For those of you who have not hunted geese over decoys, you're missing out. It is probably one of the most addicting sports i've participated in. The excitement of having 25-100 geese, trying to land on your head is unexplainable.

Elk hunting would be my third choice. Would probably be higher if the season were longer, but with only 5 days of hunting, it can't catch up with the others.

Goose hunting to me was a flop, we spent more time putting out the decoys than we did hunting. It was fun while they were flying but the limit was reached to early and we had to quit. As for pheasant, they were like shooting big chickens trying to fly. My first experience was with you in liberal. I walked beside you and was limited out before you could get your gun up. The next time we went I shot that one rooster so close that it took his head right off his neck. The elk hunting trip I took ten years ago was the biggest flop. Pagosa springs Colorado had no snow on top of the mountain and I hunted in short sleeves. No one took a bull, but my partner got a bear!! It was a fun but expensive camping trip. Still sticking with deer hunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I remember correctly your first pheasant hunt with me was the day of your brothers wedding. You couldn't hit ****. You blew out two tires and was late getting your haircut for wedding photos and pissed off your mother to no end. Maybee your next experience, we can focus more on hunting and less on changing flat tires ....

Hey

I will have to agree with Birdman, there is nothing like watching a dog track a willey old roooster for several hundreds of yards and then finally pin it down so you can walk in for the flush. After that I would have to say a good quail hunt would be next. As long as i am getting good dog work it is not about how many I kill as we have been known not so shoot just to enjoy the day that much longer.

I couldn't agree more Mike!! The most memorable hunts I have always revolve around dog work..

Yeah, try being the groom on that day.

Not only was I lucky not to be in jail from the night before, but I was super hung over and had to worry about where the hell my best man and groomsmen were two hours before the wedding!

That was my mother that was pissed off about the haircut but the two tires was all Drake. Thanks for reminding me about that. That still makes me laugh.

Funniest **** i've ever had happen while hunting. Puncture sidewall of tire and we get out and change it. Pull forward on a new spare tire about 5 feet and puncture it on the same damn thing.
