Be honest with yourself

I registered with a new nick-name for not influencing your choice, and to be free in your decision
--------

After three years in Iraq.
After thousands of dead and injured soldiers; and still counting.
After billions of dollars spent, not on rebuilding Iraq, but on the war itself; and still counting.

One would pause for a minute and ask oneself with complete honesty;
Shall we get out of Iraq?

well, first I'm guessing that this is actually the first time you've registered here, simply because there has been very little activity in this forum.

Regardless, I don't think second guessing what we should have done has any bearing on anything. We can second guess all day. If we determine that we made a mistake, then Bush can be blamed and people can waste all their time blaming someone for something that can't be undone.

Knowing what we know now should we have done what we did in my opinion? NO.

Should we have done something? YES.

What? I don't know.

Should we leave now? ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY 100% EMPHATICALLY...NO!

We can't just invade a country, change their entire way of living, leave them with a new unfamiliar government and in horribly unstable condiotions, and just say, "see ya, we need to leave now"

We need to finish what we started, and then get the heck out. Should we do it as quickly as possible? ABSOLUTELY.

Are you incenuating that we should leave now, and leave them high and dry and on their own? It sounds like it.

You can't get a girl pregnant and then leave her as soon as she has the baby simply because the responsibility you'd have to take on is more than you want to handle.

We will likely soon be faced with a much more difficult situation with IRAN.
I don't think diplomacy will work. What do you suggest there?

They've made threats to the U.S. and even moreso to our ally Israel. They have supported terrorism and best case, have not assisted in it's cessation.

They say they will not be denied nuclear weapons.

Do we allow them to have them, as dangerous and belligerent as they are?

Sure, I agree that we need to worry about ourselves. It irritates me to no end the amount of money we spend overseas that could be spent on our own people, but let's be honest, we're heading farther and farther towards a "socialist" state with all the aid and funding to those less fortunate. I'd like to see that money go towards children and learning or facilitating people to HELP THEMSELVES.

I certainly don't want to see money being spent on illegal immigrants and their healthcare. If it's for their children, that is fine, they are innocents. Any dollars spent on assisting illegal immigrants with anything other than deportation is a VAST WASTE OF MONEY in my opinion.

This is a HUGE discussion that I honestly don't want to get into here. I can create a room for this and we can continue it if you would like.

But back to topic, what answer do you really want to read?

Do you want, Yes we should leave? Sure we should. What good does answering that question do?

How about figuring out a way to do it correctly? Let's figure that out, rather than finger pointing.

No one can track where the money went?
The Patriot Act put an end to that.
Then GOP (Conservatives?) raised our national dept limit twice so they could borrow!
NOW - About $60 TRILLION is unaccounted for and may never be if the GOP retains total power.

That's enough $$$ to provide free health care, provide free higher education, fix lower education, and provide clean free power, for the entire 300 million people living in the US - legally or not.

Capitalism and Greed rule and our Government leads the way!
Kind of makes Enron look like Kindergarden for Dummies.
