I managed to take a nice bird last Friday. 10" beard and 24 lbs. First nice bird that I had an encounter with. All jakes prior to that. It sure looks like the birds are still bunched up more than normal. I sure don't think the hens are sitting on the nest yet or even laying eggs yet.

Me and a buddy went out midday today. We got a couple gobbling, but didn't get a chance to throw any shot their way. The first one we didn't see, but the second one I saw. He put on a pretty good show struttin' and gobblin' his head off, but he was acrossed a small creek. And to make matters worse there was somebody on a four wheeler in the field next to us. It was all pretty exciting though. Season's not over yet.
