Hey coop somebody set a new record for walleye on Canton. I believe that caught March 14, and I think it weighed 9.2 #'s

Good, because when I break the record myself pretty soon, I want my Walleye to weigh 10 pounds plus.

I saw in the Sunday Oklahoman. It weighed 9.2 lbs, caught by Jim Sweetwood of Norman.

It really surprises me the state record hasn't broken the 10lb mark yet. You'd think canton could grow em that big.

The Oklahoma State Walleye Record is

12-10 Altus-Lugert Lake 1995

The record is 12 pounds 10 ounces in '95 so that gives us a little over 12 years of walleye at canton lake...

I'm guessing Canton has produced a 10 pound walleye since 1995, but this is the first year of keeping "lake records" in Oklahoma. I would not be surprised at all if a 10 pound walleye comes out of Canton between now and the Walleye Rodeo in mid May.
