Just curious when you experience the best luck with cranks. I've often heard of people being very successful throwing cranks on rock breaks, points, rip rap at night. Do you think this is more of a result of time of day or limited light penetration. If you believe light penetration, would you guess overcast / rough water days would be just as productive as night?

I generally have my best luck on cranks when the fish start moving to deeper water in June. I don't do a whole lot of casting cranks for walleye. What I have done is usually at night on windblown points or along rocks. There is an occasion or two that I will cast cranks into flooded willows during the day but not very often. Trial and error is your best bet on locating and catching eyes on cranks.
