| Fishing with the Kids I had the pleasure of spending the last 10 days on a beautiful northern MN lake with my 3 & 5 year-old boys and had one of the best times of my life. After several days of very successful crappie and sunnie fishing, Max landed his first northern. His excitement brought back some strong memories of fishing on that same lake when I was his age. It was a pretty impressive catch, 4# line with a jig/waxworm on a 28" ice fishing rod. The next night he landed his second pulling a Rattling Rap with one of dad's casting rods. I was pretty proud to see them do so well and had so much fun helping them catch fish I couldn't have cared less if I got a line wet. I was sad to see all the BS going on in regards to Purple Skeeter when I returned. I had been reminded of what fishing is all about on our vacation only to see that some people have really lost sight of the sport's true value. Thanks, Joseph |
