Crankbaits for Walleye fishing

Hi Guys,
I am a little new to this whole walleye thing. I am going to sound totally stupid here. I hear about people catching walleye with crakbaits all of the time. I think that sounds like more fun than sitting and waiting for a bite all day. I am going to be heading to Canada next week. Please dont ask what lake cause I really dont have a clue, but we will be just north of lake of the woods I guess. My question is; what crankbaits are the best option for getting a few nice walleyes, or can you think of some other kind of artificial lure that would be likely to get me into a few? Sorry for being such a novice, any help with be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Thanks,
Ethan

Agreed on the shad raps Alan. I also particularly like the Wiggle wart by storm or Fat-A in crawdad pattern.

I've always heard good things about the shad raps. I have a few of them but never really did very well with them. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I have also caught a few on accident, carolina rigging for bass at Thunderbird Lake near Norman.

And have stumbled on a few with a bandit crankbait, chrome and blue.

I have so many crankbaits that I don't even know where to start. I bet I have at least 300 walleye cranks now.

My goto cranks would be rated in this order:

1. Shad Rap or Jointed Shad Rap #5 or #7
2. Berkley Flicker Shad
3. CC Wally Diver
4. Cabela's Rad Shad Jointed
5. Storm Thundercrank

I have many more but these are where I will start about 99.9% of the time.

One thing I like to do is run the smaller sizes on the above mentioned on leadcore. This allows me to run these baits deeper without adding weights and to better match the baitfish at the times I troll.
