Duck Calls

Is one in particular that someone would recommend (an economical suggestion would be appreciated)? I have bought at least 3-4 different calls over the past 1-2 yrs and keep getting mostly same result of too-high pitched, no matter how I adjust it. Any help?

Haydels DR85. Cheap and one of the best sounding calls on the market. I own a lot of high-end calls but this call which sells for less than $15 is a duck killer!

I will go get one, I've tried sureshot, buck gardner, knight and hale, and some others (granted those were all their lower tier calls) but none of them impressed me or the ducks for that matter. I'm sure a very slim part )of that could be operator error

My experience with calls is you get what you pay for. This goes well beyond the sound / quality of call and more important to me is customer service, tuning services, and replacement parts. I really like the Foiles timber rattler as well as Mick Lacy Mallard Magic. Both of these calls are pretty easy to blow and can hit those low raspy notes with ease.

I'm not that great at tuning calls so it's important to me to be able to send to manufacturer for a perfect hand tune. Most reputable call makers will offer this service. I can tune for pitch no problems, but i'm not that comfortable sanding reeds to get the break worked out.
