So I dithced work today with 4 others and set up for a goose shoot after this past weekends success. We set up in a field we hadn't hunted all year, but knew it was holding several hundred birds throughout the last several days. We threw all we had at them with a spread consisting of 20+ dozen decoys and 5 guys concealed in layout blinds. The first birds starting flying shortly after 7:45 and well before 8:30, we had wacked and stacked our 5 man limit of 20. Birds were literally dive bombing us. We had a flock of about 250-300 drop like elevators on us and worked our lungs over with non-stop calling and shooting for a little over 30 minutes at flock after flock. The hardest part of the hunt was picking all the birds up while others were trying to land ....

Wow, What do you do with all the birds?

Give away what I can, and those that I take home, I turn into jerky. I've put together a damn good marinade for them. Can't even tell it's goose. Most people I know that shoot alot either take them to a packer and have sticks made, or they make their own jerky (ground and shot threw a cannon). I personally can't stand jerky thats shot through a cannon. I have a meat slicer at work that helps ease the process of making true jerky.
