Colorado Goose Opener

The goose season opens here in Colorado this Saturday. It should be an interesting day. We're one of the few areas all the way to central Canada that currently has snowpack. Lots of birds already moved through and not much weather to start serious push of migrators our way yet. Looking at what geese we do have around and noticing how they've been feeding, looks like best bet will be small spreads 4-6 doz spaced relatively wide with small family groups and singles mingling. Nice weather means they're not going to be talking much, so aggressive calling shouldn't be needed, standard clucks and moans will be all it takes.

Good Luck!
BM

I've only been goose hunting a couple times. I found I didn't like eating them that much. The few times I went, it was some of the most exciting action I've had hunting. I may give it another try and try some different recipes. Good luck. Be sure to post some pictures.

I didn't know anyone actually liked goose ... J/K

We stockpile ours and make snack sticks out of them. Pretty darn good.
