Come to Canyon Ranch to experience a guest ranch vacation like no other. Canyon Ranch is a three thousand acre private reserve located 15 miles south of Sheridan, Wyoming. It has been owned and operated by the Wallop family for more than a century. Being situated at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains, it is the perfect spot for a unique vacation in Wyoming.
Canyon Ranch encourages turkey hunters to come and enjoy spring in the Bighorn Mountains while hunting our wild turkeys. The ranch is home to a large and strong population of wild Merriam Turkeys. This population is lightly hunted in the spring, making them easily called. Larger Toms taken in the past have weighed between 19 and 24 pounds. Hunters have called in more than 30 Toms in four days of calling. Turkey hunting season runs from early April to mid May.
Casting in the pristine waters near Canyon Ranch is an experience not to be missed. The waters here support healthy populations of brook, brown, rainbow, cutthroat and even grayling. The fly fishing choices at Canyon Ranch are varied. Little Goose Creek with its challenging currents and depths winds through the north boundry of the ranch which means guests can begin fly fishing within minutes of leaving the lodge. There are also several ponds on the property offering excellent still water fly fishing. All the waters near Canyon Ranch fish well with dry flies and nymph fishing will always be successful.
