"Caprock Outfitters came highly recommended from a couple of "no nonsense", value minded, down to earth, backwoods type friends of mine from Pennsylvania. Knowing that I was a passionate Turkey hunter, they dared me to test my skills on an infamous Texas Rio. I hooked up with Wayne Bruce, from Caprock, at the Harrisburg Outdoors Show and that was the beginning of a yearly springtime pilgrimage, to West Texas, that has gone on for five or six years. The accommodations, food, and guides are second to none, not to mention that the turkey hunting is outstanding. In all my years of hunting Eastern turkeys, I've never witnessed as many as twenty to twenty five gobblers sounding off from one roost site. That's just something that a boy from the northeast never hears. Well, down there, that's the norm rather than the exception. It's that sweet music that makes a Texas hunt all they say it is. I've never had any trouble filling my tags with long bearded Rio Gobblers that offer just as much of a challenge as any Eastern Gobbler ever has. What a place!!! When your tags are filled, the crew at Caprock will see to it that you have plenty of other activities to keep you busy. Anything from Bass fishing to Wild Hog and Predator hunting or just exploring and site seeing life on a working cattle ranch, use up your remaining stay with them. The Caprock crew goes out of their way to make sure your hunt is everything you expected and a lot more. It's one of the few hunts that I always feel as if I've gotten my moneys worth when it finally comes to an end...
