Description:
|
I professionally guide and educate anglers throughout the NJ & NY region. My specialty is the Striped Bass and Smallmouth Bass that inundate our regional waterways. I am well versed on various species of fish including: Walleye, Muskellunge, Trout, Salmon and inshore saltwater fish. I will hunt down your trophy fish, making your trip, one you will never forget.
Fly fish clouser minnows to blitzes of false albacore - Live line 14-inch bunker to big stripers - Target massive schools of bluefish or hunt down that 15 pound brown trout of your lifetime. I will put you within casting distance of the fish!
I have operated The Ardent AnglerSM Guide Service since 1997. This full time business covers fresh and saltwater, targeting trophy sized fish in NJ, PA and NY. I grew up not only fishing but also working on notable fishing fleets in NJ prior to attending college. After a short career as a territory manager for Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile and AT&T Wireless, I decided to build a business around my fishing passion.
In just 10 years, the business keeps me on the water at least 125 days a year with paying customers. In all, I am on the water well over 200 days annually. This is vital to my success as I keep my finger on the pulse of the fishery. I also Co-Hosted of The Ardent Angler Fishing Radio Show and I have Pro Team Contracts with highly innovative companies in the fishing industry.
From 1988 to 1992, I worked on the Miss Chris Fleet of boats in Cape May, NJ while attending college. During those years, I worked as 1st and/or 2nd Mate under Capt. Butch Boyd and Capt. Fred Ascoli. My primary boat was the Miss Chris II and their night bluefishing trips. I began as the Chumologist, pulling blues and sharks to the boat every night. Plus, I aided other boats on fluke fishing trips and inshore trips.
My college degree (English) has given me the writing skills needed to freelance write for several magazines including my most recent position with The Fisherman Magazine. As a Field Editor, my job is to bring the most innovative techniques and ideas from the water to the readers, across all four of their regions - New England, Long Island, New Jersey/Delaware Bay and the Mid Atlantic.
